A staggering 90% of companies believe that artificial intelligence (AI) will significantly transform the industry. The primary areas where AI is expected to make the most impact are sales, marketing, and customer relations (83%), research and development (82%), and event production (69%). Companies are already leveraging generative AI to improve efficiency in these areas.
According to the AUMA Event Organiser Outlook, a survey conducted among 172 German event organisers in April 2024, more than half of the employees in the exhibition industry are already using AI in their work. Key areas of application include text support, chatbots, data analysis, and marketing automation. Looking ahead, AI use is expected to expand further, particularly in areas such as personalised recommendations, task automation, enhancing visitor experiences, and AI-assisted networking and matchmaking. This suggests that AI will continue to play an increasingly important role in the exhibition industry.
